"The startup quickly attracted and convinced industry giants"

Specializing in online services for production control and manufacturing quality in the electronics industry, Qualtera sells “a breakthrough technology for semiconductor manufacturing and production control,” explains Richard Mousties, co-founder of the company created in 2010. The startup quickly attracted and convinced industry giants, whose names remain confidential, in the electronics, aeronautics, automotive, and smartphone sectors.

The main innovation of the company’s offering, Silicondash®, is to make it possible to test all the products on a production line, and not just a sampling,” adds Richard Mousties. Operational reporting takes place nearly in real-time. Another benefit is that the process is installed and controlled remotely via a Cloud platform, “which means we don't have to go on-site,” a distinctive advantage over the competition.

The bright Montpellier company developed its technology and first industrial pilot while at the Cap Omega BIC incubator from 2010 to 2015, before moving to the Montpellier International Business Incubator (MIBI). “The exceptional conditions offered by BIC to get started were among the main reasons we chose to set up in Montpellier.”

Qualtera has raised €10 million since it was founded. The company is forecasting €1.5 million in revenue for 2017 and €3 million for 2018. The company’s director expects the French Tech Pass to have a positive effect in terms of exposure and image. The label distinguishes startups undergoing hyper-growth, based on strict criteria, including sales revenue and other factors. Richard Mousties also pitched the project to a panel of representatives from Bpifrance, Business France, Inpi, DGE, AFIC, along with local players including Région Occitanie, investors – such as Comité Régional des Banques, regional funds (Irdi Soridec, Sofilaro, Wiseed), and business angels (Meliès) – and sector experts.

Qualtera also participated in a pre-IPO program to prepare for a potential initial public offering on the Alternext stock exchange in 2019.
