At the second edition of SATIS+ event for professionals in image and sound technologies, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, in partnership with Mission French Touch and Bpifrance, organized a morning of discussions designed to foster dialog between entrepreneurs in the Cultural and Creative Industries, public sector representatives, and financial stakeholders.

Understanding the specific financing needs of the Cultural and Creative Industries

Driven by innovation and digital applications, the Cultural and Creative Industries continue to grow rapidly. Their value creation relies largely on intangible assets such as intellectual property [1], content catalogs, and technological innovations, all of which call for evolving approaches to financing.

To support this transformation, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, Mission French Touch, and Bpifrance organized a morning of discussions as part of SATIS+, aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, and support organizations.

The session focused on major industry trends, including presentations on the French Touch Vision study, the strategic role of intellectual property, and available public and private financing options.

The goal was both to better understand the business models of the creative and cultural industries and to strengthen dialog among the various stakeholders in order to facilitate investment in these high-potential companies.

Montpellier, a hub for creative innovation

Covered topics resonate particularly strongly in Montpellier, where the film, audiovisual, and animation industries — as well as the video game and sound sectors — are undergoing sustained growth.

The sector now generates nearly €400 million in revenue and supports 3,000 jobs, making the CCIs a key driver of the area's attractiveness. This vibrant ecosystem includes companies such as Ubisoft, Dwarf Animation, Plug In Digital, France TV Studios, Fortiche Production, Sandfall Interactive, and Mathematic.

Beyond simply facilitating dialog, this morning event highlights a shared ambition to foster better collaboration among the diverse group of stakeholders involved in order to accelerate the development of the Cultural and Creative Industries. By promoting a better understanding of business models and strengthening the links between funding and creation, it helps establish a sustainable framework for this rapidly growing sector in the metropolitan area.
