TOOLS AND TRAINING TO BUILD A SOLID SUSTAINABLE GROWTH STRATEGY

  • Designed to help business leaders developing their growth plan, the Executive MBA in Sustainable Growth Strategy for SMEs is the result of a partnership between Montpellier Métropole, the Leader Occitanie association, and the Jacques Cœur Chair in Entrepreneurial Support at Labex Entreprendre (University of Montpellier). Leading to a university degree, this program consists of five thematic sessions spread over six months. It offers people an opportunity to step back and reflect on their strategy, expand their knowledge by interacting with recognized experts, and draw inspiration from the experiences of other entrepreneurs.
  • The Executive Financial Management and Sustainable Growth program, launched by Montpellier Métropole and the Leader Occitanie association, is hosted by University of Montpellier. The program is taught by a team of faculty members from Labex Entreprendre who specialize in the fields of financing and growth strategy. Its goal is to provide a simple and practical understanding of the challenges and practices of financial management for your business. To learn more, click here.
  • Montpellier Business Plan: a highly specialized and flexible tool developed by Montpellier BIC, the Montpellier Métropole’s startup incubator – ranked among the world’s top 5 by UBI Global – the Montpellier Business Plan application enables founders of innovative startups to structure their business plans and thereby better present their projects. This highly informative tool offers all types of business founders a framework for strategic thinking as well as a simulation module for financial forecasting.

MONTPELLIER MÉTROPOLE AT THE HEART OF THE FINANCING ECOSYSTEM

  • Montpellier Métropole is driving an ambitious investment strategy focused on long-term financing to support businesses. The local authority is a shareholder in Irdi Capital Investissement, a regional company that has provided equity financing for over 40 years to startups, SMEs, and mid-sized companies in France’s greater Southwest area at all stages of their development: from seed and growth to succession.

    Montpellier Métropole has also become a shareholder in five of its regional funds: Irdinov2 and 3, Aelis Innovation and Aelis Innovation2, and Irdi Impulsion, which focuses more specifically on supporting the energy transition. In 2023, Montpellier Métropole decided to participate in the Occidev fund, the second fund of Occte, the management company initiated by the Occitanie Region and dedicated to developing strategic and sustainable sectors. The Occidev fund will focus heavily on the health, environment, and food sectors, a mission perfectly aligned with MedVallée, the global center of excellence in One Health, established by Montpellier Métropole.

    GOOD TO KNOW:

    Irdi Capital Investissement and OCCTE are both implementing ESG initiatives - both within their own organizations and when providing support to projects - in line with the values promoted by Montpellier Métropole.

  • SATT AxLR Occitanie Méditerranée is a technology transfer accelerator that seeks to promote the results produced by academic laboratories in the area and facilitate technology transfer to businesses. Montpellier Métropole is a shareholder, alongside the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region, to support the economic objectives of this acceleration company in serving local businesses, including startups, micro-businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), mid-sized companies, and large corporations.

  • To help you get your growth projects off the ground quickly, Montpellier Métropole also supports you with its network of key partners - all leading organizations that assist businesses with their projects - including Bpifrance, Occitanie Region, and AD’OCC, its economic development agency, as well as the Hérault Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
