Montpellier is shaping the food systems of tomorrow on the international stage !

On the occasion of the work of the G7 Food Systems Working Group under the French presidency, Clare Hart, Vice-President for International Outreach and European Cooperation at Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, highlighted the MedVallée dynamic. This initiative is presented as an integrated approach linking innovation, research, and public policies to sustainably transform food systems in the service of territories.

Designed as a true collaborative ecosystem, this approach relies on cooperation between CIRAD, international institutions, local authorities, and research centers to foster concrete solutions, from the local scale to West Africa, through the « International Innovation Hub. »

In addition, through its position as a One Health demonstrator territory, Montpellier showcases already implemented concrete actions: sustainable school meals, an agroecological strategy, and the structuring of the Cité de l’Alimentation, in collaboration with scientific and public stakeholders in the region.

A clear vision: making food systems a driver of innovation, international cooperation, and territorial impact.
